Aged 89; (USN veteran 1953-57/veterinarian in Moberly, MO since 1969--nearly 50 yrs.); son of the late Leo Augustine Vater & the late Anna Mae (Guest) Vater (b 2/10/1933 Mendon, Chariton County, MO); 1950 graduate of Marceline High School (Marceline, Linn County, MO), attended the University of Missouri receiving a bachelor of science degree in agriculture & then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at MU (Columbia, Boone County, MO); husband of Carol Sue "Susie" (Widmer) Vater (m. 8/17/1963 Salisbury, Chariton County, MO) & she survives of the home; father of John "Scott" Vater & Jan Marie (Vater) Olinger; brother of Virginia Ann (Vater) Maag, Veronica Barbara (Vater) Marek, the late Earnest Joseph "E.J." Vater, the late Juanita Kathlyne "Kathy" (Vater) White & the late Anna "Marietta" (Vater) Fry Fugate; (Note: only a death notice and service information appeared in the 12/28/2022 issue of the MMI)
