Aged 89; (USAF/owner & operator of Summers Grocery--inherited from his father--in Huntsville, Randolph County, MO/devoted many years to refereeing basketball & football games & umpiring baseball games); son of the late Oliver Frank & the late Erma Maudell (Cooper) Summers (b. 2/18/1931 Moberly, Randolph County, MO); 1949 graduate of Huntsville High School (now Westran High School in Huntsville, Randolph County, MO) & then atttended Central Methodist University (Fayette, Howard County, MO) where he started in multiple sports & was inducted into the CMU Sports Hall of Fame in 2016; husband of Mary Ruth (Hampton) Summers (m. 8/24/1952 Moberly, Randolph County, MO) & she preceded him in death on 3/11/2013; father of James Gordon "JIm" Summers & Lucinda Kay "Cindy" (Summers) Foudree; brother of Gordon Cooper Summers & Joyce "Maudell" (Summers) Longwell
