Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Armstrong, recovered from U. S. Marine Cemetery on Betio Island
Died during WWII, buried on Betio island, was not recovered during operations in 1946 and 1947, listed as non-recoverable, History Flight found coffin in 2017 with remains, sent to Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency for examination and identification. Announcement made on October 9, 2024, that Merchant Marine Wiper Elvis N. Spotts, 18, was accounted for on September 13, 2018.
