Monroe County Yesteryears
Exodus of the Eighties(Aug 20, 1897)- In the eighties began an exodus of Monroe Countians to greener fields. Some went to Montana, some to Oklahoma lands when they were opened or the Texas panhandle, others homesteaded government lands in the west.
